Gwendolyn Piper Steeves: Notes from Grandma Charlene

Dear Gwen:
Just a note to express some of the joy and awe your first year has brought to my life. I so enjoy your Snapfish photos. I think from the very first month, I noticed the inquisitive looks on your face and pure wonder in your big blue eyes. You would gaze in your Mom's face to see what was happening next. You are turning out to be quite a Cub fan...nurtured by your Daddy. I love seeing all your little day trips and imagining all the fun you're having. When you visited, I noticed how you liked the color, texture, and fragrance of flowers. I enjoy flower gardens. My Grandmother Viola introduced me to flower gardens before I could walk. She taught the names and various species. Hope you continue with your music education. I think you and your Mom have a very special bonding at your classes.
Although we are miles apart, you are in my thoughts and prayers each day.
Now it's time to begin toddlerhood ...keep up your enthusiasm and wonder.
Love, Grandma

  • Please don't keep the bible off the must read list. It can provide wisdom, comfort, and guide for life and death.
  • Also my Granddaughter must learn about make-up and hair salons. Great drugstores in the south Publix, Eckerd's...in the north Walgreen's.
  • Browsing cosmetics counters in large department stores is priceless.
